Deep Sea Supply reports mixed vessel rates for Jan 2011


Oslo-listed oil service provider Deep Sea Supply (OSL: DESSC) said its 12 anchor-handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessels got weaker rates in January compared with a month ago, while its eight platform supply vessels (PSVs) got better rates.

ADIB arranges a US$32 million Structured Ijara financing for Waha Maritime


(ADIB), a top-tier Islamic financial services group, has acted as Mandated Lead Arranger for the US$32 million structured Ijara facility to fund the acquisition of up to 6 Offshore Supply Vessels (OSVs) for Waha Offshore Marine Services (WOMS), the marine chartering and operations arm of Waha Maritime. The financing represents an important milestone for Waha Maritime in its expansion in the Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) sector. Waha Maritime is a subsidiary of Waha Capital, one of the Middle East's leading diversified investment holding companies.

Aker Solutions unit lands ship equipment contract in Korea


30 December 2010 - Norwegian oil-service group Aker Solutions ASA (OSL: AKSO) said on Wednesday its unit Step Offshore will supply vessel equipment to South Korean shipyard STX Offshore & Shipbuilding (SEO: 067250) for an undisclosed sum.

The equipment is for a dynamically positioned, ultra-deepwater drillship from the Globetrotter class, owned by Swiss offshore drilling contractor Noble Corp (NYSE: NE | PowerRating), which will be built at STX's yard in Dalian, China. The installation and commissioning of the topside equipment will be carried out in the Netherlands.

Drydocks delivers platform support vessel to REM Offshore


Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) REM Supplier which was built at Drydocks World's Nanindah shipyard was successfully delivered to REM Offshore, Norway-based shipping company engaged in the oil and gas sector.

The vessel was built at one of the three Drydocks World yards located on Batam Island, Indonesia. The UT 755LN type PSV is equipped with FiFi1 Capability and DP 2 dynamic positioning system. The vessel also uses two MAK 6M25 engines instead of a usual Bergen Engine that is characteristic of a Rolls Royce designed vessel.

Sale Of Platform Supply Vessel by Siem Offshore


Siem Offshore has entered into an agreement for the sale of the 2007 built PSV ‘Siem Mollie’.

PSV ‘Siem Mollie’ of VS 470 mk II design has been sold to an Asian buyer at a price of approx USD 32 million. The vessel is scheduled to be delivered to its new owner within December 2010.

The ‘Siem Mollie’ completed its three years charter in October 2010, and is now trading in the North Sea spot market.

Eidesvik orders fifth gas-powered PSV


Wärtsilä has won its fifth order from Norwegian operator Eidesvik Offshore for a gas-fuelled platform supply vessel (PSV).

Wärtsilä's scope of supply for the new vessel includes the dual-fuel main engines and generating sets, the electrical power and propulsion system, integrated automation, and the power management system.

The vessel will be equipped for use in Arctic service, including various with “winterization” and de-icing solutions. It will be built at Kleven Verft in Norway.

Havyard Group delivers PSV to Global Offshore Services


On 1 December 2011 Beaucephalus, a Havyard 832 L SE platform supply vessel was delivered to Global Offshore Services BV, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Garware Offshore Services Ltd, by Havyard Leirvik shipyard in Norway.

The vessel is the eighth Havyard 832 design to have been delivered, with a further three ships under construction. "All of Havyard 832s that have been delivered are on long term contracts and the second hand value has proved to be very good," said the shipyard.

Three French oil hostages released in Nigeria


Three French sailors kidnapped by pirates from an oil industry supply vessel off Nigeria six weeks ago have been released, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said Wednesday.
"My first thoughts are with our fellow citizens who have just gone through such a difficult ordeal," said Kouchner, adding that he had been informed of the release by Nigerian authorities.
Two more French oilmen who were kidnapped Monday in a separate attack on an oil platform along with five fellow expatriate workers are still missing and France was doing everything it could to find them, he added.

Subsea7 secures $100m North Sea contract with BP


30 month contract awarded for project management, engineering and remotely operated vehicle services for offshore inspection, repair and maintenance activities
Oil and gas industry engineering and construction group Subsea 7 has won a $100 million North Sea contract from BP.

The global company – which has its UK base in Aberdeen which employs 1,200 staff – has signed a two and a half year deal with the oil giant.
